UBL (Universal Business Language) is an XML standard for business documents such as e-invoices and orders. It is the basis underneath much e-invoicing, including the PEPPOL network, and ensures invoices can be read in automatically.
One language for business documents
UBL (Universal Business Language) is an open standard that describes business documents in XML: invoices, orders, order confirmations and more. Because the structure is fixed, the receiving system can read and process such a document automatically, without anyone retyping it.
UBL is the basis underneath much e-invoicing. The PEPPOL network, for example, uses a UBL format for e-invoices, so that governments and companies across Europe understand each other's invoices.
