What is PEPPOL?

PEPPOL is an international network for e-invoicing and e-procurement. With the upcoming e-invoicing obligations it is becoming increasingly important. Below you can read how it works.

In short

PEPPOL is an international network and framework for e-invoicing and e-procurement. Via a PEPPOL access point you send structured e-invoices to governments and companies across Europe. With the upcoming e-invoicing obligations, PEPPOL is becoming increasingly important.

One network for e-invoices

PEPPOL is a framework and network with which organisations exchange structured e-invoices and order messages. You connect via a PEPPOL access point; from there you reach every other connected party in Europe, without making a separate connection per partner.

A PEPPOL invoice is a standardised XML document that the receiving system can read and post automatically. That is faster and more error-free than a PDF someone has to retype.

Why relevant now?

More and more governments and countries are mandating e-invoicing. Anyone who supplies to the government or does business internationally will sooner or later have to deal with it. A PEPPOL connection ensures your invoices automatically go the right way, from your existing administration.
